Finally found error regarding bitcoind responding to satstack with deprecated formatting of warning response. You can add request for deprecated formats by adding “deprecatedrpc=warnings” to your bitcoin.conf file. That fixed the connection. Now, I’m just working on the automated startup of lss, the satstack executable. I can do it manually and log files show it is working. But, it is hard to manage if there is restart and I have to repeat the procedure. But, it only needs to be running when I use Ledger Live, so maybe it doesn’t need to be running constantly in background.
