I’ve got a bitcoin node in process that should make my solo mining easier to connect. I started with the DMG download and gui, but quickly transitioned to the brew install that gives me both a daemon running in the background and a command line interface for testing and process stats. Additionally, I’m able to run an error listing showing each block as it’s added to the overall node. I think Comcast Xfinity is still throttling my traffic on port 8333. But, the Damon seems to make better progress than the app. more updates when it’s finished downloading, which could take up to a week given the size of the total block chain. I’m helping the network by becoming a node and it looks like there’s many others who have done the same thing.

Moved and routed…
Computer moved to Washington and connected to Comcast Xfinity. Have worked out no-ip re-routing and working for most. However, have to setup alternative routing inside house since Xfinity doesn’t support loopback.
Mastodon
Built my Mastodon site without too much difficulty: https://aswmast.life/
Now the decision on whether I want to attract users and start using it. Worth considering as an alternative to other social media networks. Still a federated option to consider as well. Maybe multiple schools connected together? What about other instances? Cost? Do I need to shut it down to save money?
Very stable…
Has been very stable recently and CRONTAB job setup to do Brew Upgrades is working with reports sent to Mailhog as intended. There have been a couple of Zoom crashes, but otherwise, very stable and now a working machine again. I’m happy with PHP 8.1 and MariaDB now seems more stable as well. Also configured glances -w to work so that I can see system status in browser. All very good.
