{"id":197,"date":"2014-09-16T07:52:42","date_gmt":"2014-09-16T03:52:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.aas.ru\/director\/?p=197"},"modified":"2014-09-16T07:52:42","modified_gmt":"2014-09-16T03:52:42","slug":"parent-community-partnership-presentation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zimplicity.hopto.org\/techtied\/?p=197","title":{"rendered":"Parent &#038; Community Partnership Presentation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had the first Director&#8217;s forum on September 3rd, and follow-up with PTO meeting this morning, September 16th. \u00a0The slides from that presentation below. \u00a0Our purpose in these forums is to get a sense of how we can better serve the community outside the walls of the school. \u00a0While our discipline legitimately cannot go there, we can provide information and resources to parents in order to bridge this gap more effectively in partnership that ensures student safety and security. \u00a0This was the first in a multiple meeting conversation.<\/p>\n<p>Future dates: \u00a0November 5, March 4, May 20<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.slideshare.net\/slideshow\/embed_code\/key\/1zOmVU7Q8s6pZz\" width=\"425\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"border:1px solid #CCC; border-width:1px; margin-bottom:5px; max-width: 100%;\" allowfullscreen> <\/iframe> <\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:5px\"> <strong> <a href=\"\/\/www.slideshare.net\/chinazurfluh\/parent-partnership-2014\" title=\"Parent Partnership 2014\" target=\"_blank\">Parent Partnership 2014<\/a> <\/strong> from <strong><a href=\"\/\/www.slideshare.net\/chinazurfluh\" target=\"_blank\">Jon Zurfluh<\/a><\/strong> <\/div>\n<p>Parents at the forum shared the following ideas:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif; font-style: italic;\">It was agreed that it would be useful to provide information to parents about what is\u00a0legal and illegal in Russia.\u00a0 Smoking age, drinking age, substances, etc. (In process)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif; font-style: italic;\">It was agreed it would be useful to publish that EMC provides a home substance testing service \u2013 we should check whether there is mandatory disclosure to the authorities with some drugs before we put that out. (In process)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, 'Bitstream Charter', serif; font-style: italic;\">There was discussion about educating parents about what their children are taught so that they know, too.
