They noticed many changes along the way:<\/p>\n<p>Amie: \u201cMore nets around the trees.\u201d<br \/>\nAlex: \u201cLast time, the beaver\u2019s den was long and there were flowers around it.  But now there was only snow, no flowers around it.\u201d<br \/>\nGabi: \u201cLast time there was no sand on the ground. But this time, there were sand on the ground.  They put sand on the ground so that you won\u2019t fall down because of the snow.\u201d<br \/>\nAda: \u201cThere were no ducks in the pond.  I wondered where the ducks went.\u201d<br \/>\nAltai: \u201cThe ducks went to the other pond because the other pond was not frozen.\u201d<br \/>\nAlexandra: \u201cWe saw more snow and ice.  But last time we saw lots of grass and flowers.\u201d<br \/>\nJulia: \u201cLast time, we saw many big leaves on the trees.  But this time, we saw very little leaves.\u201d<br \/>\nVeronika: \u201cI noticed that there were ducks in the big pond and there were no ducks in the little pond.\u201d<br \/>\nNick: \u201cI noticed that there was little bit ice in the big pond.  But the whole little pond was frozen.  The ducks can\u2019t live in there.  They went out.\u201d<br \/>\nSoeun: \u201cThere are lots of snow on the ground.  It was cold.\u201d<br \/>\nSeok: \u201cThis time there was ice in the water.\u201d<br \/>\nTomasz: \u201cI noticed that there were flowers last time.  But we didn\u2019t see any flowers this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response to Ada&#8217;s question of &#8220;where the ducks went?&#8221; and Altai and Nick&#8217;s answers, KZE students continued their discussion:<\/p>\n<p>Alexandra: \u201cThey flew down south. So they can stay in a warmer lake.\u201d<br \/>\nGabi: \u201cAll the ducks go to the bigger pond. Because there are still some water in the bigger pond.\u201d<br \/>\nMrs. Zurfluh: \u201cWhat will happen if the bigger pond froze too?\u201d<br \/>\nJulia: \u201cThey will go to the ones that are not frozen.\u201d<br \/>\nVeronika: \u201cThey will fly to a warmer place.\u201d<br \/>\nAlex: \u201cThey flew from the small pond to the big pond. When all the ponds in Moscow are frozen, they will fly to a hot place like Spain, or Dominican Republic.\u201d<br \/>\nAmie: \u201cOr India, or Australia.\u201d<br \/>\nAltai: \u201cIf all the ponds are frozen in the whole world, the ducks will crack the ice with their beaks.\u201d<br \/>\nAda: \u201cI disagreed.  Because not all the ponds in the world will be frozen.\u201d<br \/>\nTomasz: \u201cI agreed with Ada.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We will continue to observe the forest and record as many changes as we noticed.   <\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KZE students went on another forest walk this Wednesday.
