{"id":1173,"date":"2015-09-10T10:51:15","date_gmt":"2015-09-10T06:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.aas.ru\/kze\/?p=1173"},"modified":"2015-09-10T10:51:15","modified_gmt":"2015-09-10T06:51:15","slug":"how-the-world-works-cycle-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zimplicity.hopto.org\/emily\/2015\/09\/10\/how-the-world-works-cycle-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"How the World Works &#8211; Cycle &#038; Changes&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tOne afternoon, Mrs. Zurfluh showed students a picture of a bicycle wheel and asked: \u201cWhat do you notice about the picture?\u201d<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.aas.ru\/kze\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2015\/09\/kaymbu-image1-20150910-0635.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1175\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.aas.ru\/kze\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2015\/09\/kaymbu-image1-20150910-0635-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"kaymbu-image1-20150910-0635\" width=\"214\" height=\"214\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At first they noticed that it was a tire, a wheel, it was round and had lines (spokes) on it. \u201cIt was a circle. It had two circles on it.\u201d After some discussion they decided that it went \u00a0around and around. This brought us on to the idea of a \u2018Cycle\u2019 \u2013 something that happens over and over.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Zurfluh asked: \u201cKnowing that cycle is something that repeat again and again. Can you think of anything in our environment or life that we can call it a cycle?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tomazs: \u201cIt\u2019s like a clock. It goes around and around.\u201d<br \/>\nAda Amie: &#8221; The flowers grow and grow, then they die, and then grow again, and never stop.  And that is a cycle.&#8221;<br \/>\nTim: \u201cThe earth goes around and around, and don\u2019t stop.\u201d<br \/>\nAltai: \u201cDay and night. We get up in the morning and go to sleep at night.\u201d<br \/>\nVeronika: \u201cI don\u2019t know how to say in English. (Then she said it in Russian. Another friend tried to translate for her) \u201cIt was like the days and months.\u201d The days changing \u2013 Seasons!<br \/>\nAltai: \u201cPeople too. Start with babies, they grow, and grow, and become old and die. And start all over again.\u201d<br \/>\nTim: \u201cSame as the turtles. They lay eggs, they hatch, and then they grow and lay more eggs.\u201d<br \/>\nAda: \u201cThe Sun. It comes out in the morning and goes down at night.\u201d<br \/>\nAltai: &#8220;The trees get older and older and bigger and bigger. They cut them down. And then new tress grow.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.aas.ru\/kze\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2015\/09\/kaymbu-image2-20150910-0635-e1441867100421.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1176\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.aas.ru\/kze\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2015\/09\/kaymbu-image2-20150910-0635-e1441867100421-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"kaymbu-image2-20150910-0635\" width=\"298\" height=\"298\" \/><\/a>The students all agreed that our schedule is a cycle as well.<\/p>\n<p>After our discussion on cycle. We continued our learning on seasons. We went on a forest walk to observe and explore our environment.
